Title: The school culture

Abstract: This paper aims at provide a definition of teacher's values at internationallevel by explaining the different facets created over time. Thus the value ofthe feature as an umbrella term to denote not only guiding ideas of our behaviorand our choices but also assessments of situations. It is very necessaryto study on teachers' values in order to understand all the professionalcontext in which teachers operate as they make their own of the school'sculture in which they work. The results show that the environment affectstheir values and is unaffected (Dewey, 1968) and each one make sense andmeaning to the experience on the basis of their values.

Abstract: Questo contributo si propone di offrire una definizione del termine valorea livello internazionale spiegando le diverse sfaccettature create nel corsodel tempo. Dunque la caratteristica del valore risulta essere un termine ombrelloper indicare non solo idee guida dei nostri comportamenti e dellenostre scelte ma anche valutazioni delle situazioni. È quanto mai necessariodedicare lo studio sui valori dei docenti per capire tutto il contesto professionalenel quale i docenti operano poiché essi fanno propria la cultura dellascuola in cui lavorano. I risultati mostrano che il contesto influisce suipropri valori e ne viene influenzato (Dewey, 1968) ed ognuno attribuiscesenso e significato all'esperienza sulla base dei propri valori.
