Title: From Plato's cave to echo chambers. Educating for critical thinking to "get rid" of post-truth and fake news

Abstract: This paper aim to present some topics of critical thinking, understood as a necessary tool to face the digital and media complexity's challenges, such as post-truth and fake news that represent a threat to building consensus and to the education of informed and responsible citizens. There are also some partial results, part of an ongoing doctoral research project, in which we have been analysing the habits of "digital natives" in the face of news posted on social networks.

Title: Dalla caverna di Platone alle echo chambers. Educare al pensiero critico per "liberarsi" da post-verità e fake news

Abstract: In questo contributo sono presentati alcuni argomenti del pensiero critico, inteso quale strumento indispensabile per far fronte a delle sfide della complessità digitale e mediale, quali le post-verità e le fake news che rappresentano una minaccia per la creazione di consenso e per l'educazione di cittadini informati e responsabili. Vengono poi introdotti alcuni risultati parziali, parte di un progetto di ricerca dottorale in corso, in cui sono state analizzate le abitudini dei "nativi digitali" di fronte alle notizie pubblicate sui social network.
