Title: Digital storytelling and civic engagement in lifelong learning
Abstract: In this period of unpredictable changes, we wonder how lifelong learning can be readapted by resorting to approaches that develop the capacity-building potential of learners. Who are these learners? People whose age group exposes them most to the risk of exclusion and whose prospects on the quality of life appear even more uncertain, especially in this pandemic period. Starting from the educational model for human development and from recent research on digital storytelling, we want to define an educational system based on digital narratives. This model represents the main theoretical framework for a research project aimed at the elderly in an urban periphery context with meaningful potential – social and cultural – spill-over effects on the participants and on the whole community to which they belong.

Abstract: In un periodo di cambiamenti imprevedibili quale quello attuale, ci si interroga su come la formazione permanente possa essere riadattata ricorrendo ad approcci che sviluppino le potenzialità capacitative di discenti la cui fascia d'età li espone maggiormente al rischio di esclusione e le cui prospettive sulla qualità di vita appaiono, anche alla luce della recente pandemia, ancora più incerte. Sulla scorta del modello formativo per lo sviluppo umano e delle recenti ricerche sul Digital storytelling, si definisce un sistema formativo basato sulle narrazioni digitali. Esso rappresenta la cornice teorica di riferimento per un progetto di ricerca rivolto agli anziani di un contesto di periferia urbana, con potenziali ricadute – sociali e culturali – significative sui partecipanti e sulla comunità di appartenenza.
