Title: Stimulate the development of visual-spatial skills by means of software applications for IWB

Abstract: Although it has great relevance in the field of cognitive skills, visual intelligence remains neglected in the common school curriculum. This is generally assessed by limited intelligence tests. In the field of visual intelligence, visual- spatial skills play a decisive role. Stimulating its evelopment is not easy and requires specific actions and exercises performed in space. Starting from these premises, an IWB application was created for children up to six years of age that allows you to stimulate the development of these skills. It has a simple interface with a few buttons and an avatar that talks about the rules of the game, the actions to be done, the progress and the results. In this way, players do not need reading skills, but perform actions directly on the screen. Its use in kindergarten is expected to bring advantages in the development of visual intelligence and, more specifically, in the development of visual-spatial skills. To do this, a pilot project was developed. Its results have been collected and analysed.
