Title: School drop-out as an endemic phenomenon: Research on the state of art in Italy and Europe

Abstract: This contribution deals with early school leaving in Italy and Europe. Starting from the analysis of the documents produced at European level, the aim is to reconstruct how early school leaving is characterized at a national and international level, investigating its causes, the policies aimed at curbing it and the effectiveness of the measures put in place to fight it. Subsequently, a concise review of the dedicated literature is proposed to understand better the recent phenomenon's evolution that is not yet fully defined and thus gain insight into the state of the art.

Title: La dispersione scolastica come fenomeno endemico. Ricerca sullo stato dell'arte della letteratura in Italia e in Europa

Abstract: Questo contributo riguarda la dispersione scolastica in Italia e in Europa. Partendo dall'analisi dei documenti prodotti a livello europeo, si intende ricostruire come si connota l'abbandono scolastico a livello nazionale e internazionale, indagandone le cause, le politiche dirette a contenerlo e l'efficacia delle misure messe in campo per contrastarlo. Successivamente, viene proposta una sintetica rassegna della letteratura dedicata, per meglio comprendere l'evoluzione del fenomeno così recente da non essere ancora del tutto definito e acquisire così una visione dello stato dell'arte.
