Title: The Impact of Sports Practice on Anxiety and Panic Attack Management: Analysis of Gender Differences
Abstract: Sports practice represents a tool of central importance for promoting physical, psychological, social, and cognitive health. Physical activity is recommended to improve and manage symptoms of anxiety, depression, and psychological distress. This study aims to explore the health and well-being status of boys and girls, examining the relationship between health and sports practice. In particular, we aim to investigate whether there are differences between boys and girls who play sports and those who do not engage in sports, in experiencing anxiety, panic attacks, and in using anxiolytics, tranquilizers and sleeping pills, considering possible gender differences. The instrument used is an online questionnaire (Google Forms) administered to university students (N=678). Responses to the questionnaire were expressed in frequencies (N) and percentages (%). For analyses regarding the relationships between variables, the Chi-Square test was used. Results show that the majority of girls (73.7%) and boys (77.5%) who experienced anxiety and panic attacks in the past year do not attend sports groups. Conversely, girls and boys who engage in sports activities report fewer symptoms of anxiety and panic attacks in the past year. In conclusion, promoting physical activity and increasing awareness of the benefits of sports practice for health is crucial.

Title: Impatto della pratica sportiva sulla gestione dell'ansia e degli attacchi di panico: Analisi delle differenze di genere
Abstract: La pratica sportiva rappresenta uno strumento di centrale rilevanza per la promozione della salute fisica, psicologica, sociale e cognitiva. L'attività fisica è raccomandata per migliorare e gestire sintomi di ansia, depressione e disagio psicologico. Obiettivo di questo studio è esplorare lo stato di salute e benessere di ragazzi e ragazze, esaminando la relazione fra salute e pratica sportiva. In particolare, si vuole indagare se vi sono differenze fra ragazzi e ragazze che praticano sport e quelli che non svolgono attività sportiva, nell'esperire ansia, attacchi di panico e nel fare uso di ansiolitici, tranquillanti e sonniferi, considerando le possibili differenze di genere. Lo strumento utilizzato è un questionario online (Google Moduli) a studenti e studentesse universitarie (N=678). Le risposte al questionario sono state espresse in frequenze (N) e percentuali (%). Per le analisi riguardanti le relazioni tra le variabili, è stato utilizzato il test del Chi Quadrato. I risultati mostrano che la maggior parte delle ragazze (73,7%) e dei ragazzi (77,5%) che hanno esperito ansia e attacchi di panico nell'ultimo anno, non frequenta gruppi sportivi. Viceversa, le ragazze e i ragazzi che frequentano attività sportive riportano meno sintomi di ansia e attacchi di panico nell'ultimo anno. In conclusione, risulta fondamentale promuovere l'attività fisica e aumentare la consapevolezza dei benefici dell'attività sportiva per la salute.

Abstract: La pratique sportive représente un outil de pertinence centrale pour la promotion de la santé physique, psychologique, sociale et cognitive.L'activité physique est recommandée pour améliorer et gérer les symptômes d'anxiété, de dépression et d'inconfort psychologique.L'objectif de cette étude est d'explorer l'état de la santé et le bien des garçons et des filles, en examinant la relation entre la santé et la pratique sportive.En particulier, nous voulons déterminer s'il existe des différences entre les garçons et les filles qui pratiquent le sport et ceux qui n'effectuent pas des activités sportives, dans l'élargissement de l'anxiété, les attaques de panique et l'utilisation de l'anxiolytique, des tranquillisants et des somnifères, en considérant les éventuelles différences entre les sexes.L'outil utilisé est un questionnaire en ligne (modules Google) aux étudiants et aux étudiants universitaires (n = 678).Les réponses au questionnaire ont été exprimées en fréquences (n) et en pourcentages (%).Pour les analyses concernant les relations entre les variables, le test de Chi Square a été utilisé.Les résultats montrent que la plupart des filles (73,7%) et des garçons (77,5%) qui ont connu des crises d'anxiété et de panique au cours de la dernière année, ne fréquente pas des groupes sportifs.À l'inverse, les filles et les garçons qui assistent à des activités sportives signalent moins de symptômes d'anxiété et d'attaques de panique au cours de la dernière année.En conclusion, il est essentiel de promouvoir l'activité physique et d'augmenter la sensibilisation aux avantages des sports pour la santé. La actividad física se recomienda para mejorar y manejar los síntomas de ansiedad, depresión y malestar psicológico. Este estudio tiene como objetivo explorar el estado de salud y bienestar de chicos y chicas, examinando la relación entre la salud y la práctica deportiva. En particular, se busca investigar si existen diferencias entre chicos y chicas que practican deporte y aquellos que no participan en actividades deportivas, en experimentar ansiedad, ataques de pánico y en el uso de ansiolíticos, tranquilizantes y pastillas para dormir, considerando las posibles diferencias de género. El instrumento utilizado es un cuestionario en línea (Google Forms) administrado a estudiantes universitarios (N=678). Las respuestas al cuestionario se expresaron en frecuencias (N) y porcentajes (%). Para los análisis de las relaciones entre variables, se utilizó la prueba de Chi-Cuadrado. Los resultados muestran que la mayoría de las chicas (73.7%) y chicos (77.5%) que experimentaron ansiedad y ataques de pánico en el último año no asisten a grupos deportivos. Por el contrario, las chicas y chicos que participan en actividades deportivas informan menos síntomas de ansiedad y ataques de pánico en el último año. En conclusión, es fundamental promover la actividad física y aumentar la conciencia de los beneficios de la práctica deportiva para la salud.

Este estudo visa explorar o estado de saúde e bem-estar de meninos e meninas, examinando a relação entre saúde e prática esportiva. Em particular, pretende-se investigar se há diferenças entre meninos e meninas que praticam esportes e aqueles que não praticam, em experimentar ansiedade, ataques de pânico e no uso de ansiolíticos, tranquilizantes e comprimidos para dormir, considerando possíveis diferenças de gênero. O instrumento utilizado é um questionário online (Google Forms) administrado a estudantes universitários (N=678). As respostas ao questionário foram expressas em frequências (N) e percentuais (%). Para as análises das relações entre variáveis, utilizou-se o teste Qui-Quadrado. Os resultados mostram que a maioria das meninas (73,7%) e meninos (77,5%) que experimentaram ansiedade e ataques de pânico no último ano não frequentam grupos esportivos. Por outro lado, meninas e meninos que participam de atividades esportivas relatam menos sintomas de ansiedade e ataques de pânico no último ano. Em conclusão, é fundamental promover a atividade física e aumentar a consciência dos benefícios da prática esportiva para a saúde.
